What We Are Building

Let’s build a trail in Hickory, NC that will serve as a destination for riders across the region. We have a great resource that has been used for years by many. We are partnering with a professional trail building firm which will ensure long term sustainability and we have also entered into an agreement with the Northwest North Carolina Mountain Bike Alliance for support and maintenance of the the trail for years to come.

Our funding goal is $100,000 which will enable us to complete the trail, pump track and way finding signage.

Now is our time to build a trail that will have a considerable impact on the economy and health of Hickory for years to come.

Trail Building

The hickory city park trails have some of the best terrain and features in our area. We look to only enhance these features and build a trail that will meet the needs of any rider. We are extremely lucky to have a trail that has a lot to offer in terms of terrain and scenic views.

Rock ‘n Road Bicycles
Pump Track

We are building a pump track that will enable riders of all skill levels and age a way to have fun. Pump tracks are great fun for the entire family and we look forward to building this.

Huge thanks goes out to Rock ‘n Road Bicycles in Hickory, NC who has donated $15,000 to build the new pump track!

Wayfinding and signage are crucial for fun and safety. We are building a fun experience by providing trail users a way to find their way around easily. We also plan to incorporate corporate sponsors a way to show their support through branding opportunities by showing their support and logo on signage.

“mountain biking has a measurable positive economic impact, especially when gauged in terms of tourism and visitor dollars”.

In a recent EIA study, the report finds that building quality trails has a direct economic response in which riders who visit these trails spend on average $61/per day without lodging and $139/per night in lodging.
